WNC Blog - For East Central High School (St. Leon, Ind.) principal Donel Criswell, who watched the Super Bowl live in Miami, the best part of the game was “when the gun went off and the Colts won,” he reported from Hollywood, Fla., Monday morning.

“I just couldn’t believe that I was there ... I got to see them win the Super Bowl!”
Ten years from now, Criswell will remember “all the people that were going in with the Bears and Colts stuff on, all the movie stars sitting behind us. It was raining all night, but we had a roof over us, so we were dry as a bone.”
He and son Scott, St. Louis, were sitting in the last row next to a suite, so they could keep an eye on John Travolta, Lynda Carter, Cal Ripken, Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. “We thought we were movie stars,” he laughed.
After arriving at the stadium at 2 p.m. Sunday, the father and son enjoyed the NFL Experience, where they had photos taken holding the Super Bowl helmet and next to the red Cadillac given to Peyton Manning after the Colts victory.
Criswell really enjoyed the entertainment. Before the kickoff, he listened to Billy Joel sing the national anthem, then watched jets fly over. “It just gave you goose bumps.” Although halftime headliner Prince isn’t exactly his musical taste, the principal said, “I thought he did an outstanding job.”
